Colleagues and fellow owners,
Here it is -- the long-awaited update to The Strat-O-Matic
League's website. There are several important pieces of information
here, so look it over.
- Strat has issued yet another patch (11.03a). You can find out
if you need it by opening the Strat program, and going to the Help
menu. Select "About...". The first line will tell you your program
version. If it is anything other than 11.03a, then go to the
Strat
Patches page, and download the patch.
- Strat also has a recent article in the "Strat-o-Sphere" on
loading
the game onto a flash drive, to make it more portable.
- The roster files for our current season are available
here, in .zip file format.
I have also emailed them to you. (You should already have a
program that will extract .zip files, but if not, you can get one
free here.)
To use these files, simply:
- Extract the files.
- Place the files into the Rosters subdirectory, which is
inside the CDROMBB directory. Most likely, the path will
be C:/CDROMBB/Rosters/.
- Go to the Print directory (C:/CDROMBB/Print) and create a
directory called 2006TS. Then move the one file called 2006TSmd
from the Rosters directory into the new directory.
- Open the Strat program, and select 2006 The Strat League.
Go to the League menu and select "Restart League."

- Once you have put the files there and re-started the
league, you are good to go. The 2006 TSL league and
rosters will appear on your computer list of leagues.
- Two notes about these rosters: 1) I can not
vouch for the accuracy of the ballpark information,
specifically the wall heights. This
page tells you how to check the wall heights for your
stadium, and to change them if they are incorrect.
2) You'll notice a team called Goths2. This is because
Greg and Tim are trying to corner the market on pitchers, but
Strat will only allow one team to carry 25 pitchers. The Goths
currently have 26. So I selected one unlikely to play this
year, and put them into the Goths2 team, so that we had a clean
record of who belongs to who.
- We've talked several times about pitchers coming in to bat,
and fielders being put in to pitch. Here
are the cards that the game uses for each of these
situations.
- This page contains an archive
of our official draft notes over the last few years. I don't
have some years, so anything that I don't have posted here, please
send to me.
- Instructions on how to make pitchers tired (or not tired) and
players injured (or not injured) remain accurate, as far as I
know. Go to the Resting Players
page for that information, including screen shots.
- And of course, we can't forget the Members'
Photo Gallery.
Finally, for those of you interested, you can follow the career
and exploits of the league's favorite player here.
